Name: Scalloped Hammerhead Shark

Japanese name: アカシュモクザメ (literally "red mallet shark")
Korean name: 홍살귀상어 (literally "Hongsal eared shark")
Distribution: Temperate and tropical waters around the world
Size: 1.8 m and 29 kg
Diet: Stingrays, large fishes, smaller sharks and octopi
Conservation status: Endangered
Fossil record: Miocene to Holocene
Description: A requiem shark with a hammer-like head used to detect prey below sand such as flatfish, crustaceans and rays. Travels in groups and it is a nomadic shark. Protected by CITES along with smooth and great hammerhead shark in 2013
Eating quality: Why would I eat this? It's an endangered species!! I don't want to eat sharks and rays!!
Threats: Pollution, bycatch and shark fishery by Taiwan and India
How do you save them: Do not buy shark products, support shark tourism and eat only pole-caught tuna, as scalloped hammerhead sharks are usually caught as bycatch in longline fishery

Those are Great Hammerheads, but they can be up to 23 feet, around the same size as Great White Sharks.
Sadly, they are heavily caught for their fins and thousadns and millions are thrown back into the ocean to drown.
